In the Media: Valentia in The Colorado Sun

The Colorado Sun writer Nancy Lofholm and photographer Dean Krakel visited the Tasting Room and the Distribution Center this week to meet Karen and some of our staff, and check out the new Valentia. The result is an article that we’re so excited to see in print. Nancy clearly understood the significance of a rum made by women.

“For Hoskin, Valentia represents more than just another top-shelf rum,” she writers in the article. “It is a major step in her long effort to open more doors to women in craft distilling. The rum is a symbol of walking the walk after years of talking the talk about gender inequality in the industry.”

Nancy traces the history of women in distilling all the way back to the Prohibition Era, and does a great job of conveying why this rum means so much to Karen and to all of us at Montanya. You can read the full article and see more photos on The Colorado Sun. Thanks Nancy and Dean!
