American Rum

Award-Winning Rum with No Added Sugar

We make rum we love to drink: smooth and not sweet, and full of flavors that are naturally produced through barrel aging. We don’t add sugar, molasses caramel, or artificial flavors or colors to our rums. Since 2008, they’ve earned 29 double gold, gold and silver medals in international competition. Exclusiva 3-Year Aged Rum

A connoisseur’s sipper, we love this rum’s dry, tannic finish and complex flavor profile. A double gold winner and a double maturation rum, it ages in American White Oak whiskey barrels and finishes in French Oak cabernet sauvignon and port barrels.

Valentia 4-Year Aged Rum

Our longest-aged rum, we introduced Valentia as a tribute to the progress women have made in distilling. This aromatic spirit has earned a following for its spicy rye finish, achieved through barrel aging in American white oak followed by rye barrels.

Craft Distilling

We make Montanya Rums in small batches in alembic copper pot stills, using some of the oldest distilling traditions in the world. Our distillers oversee every step of the process, from the fermentation of yeast and sugarcane to distilling and aging. It’s more than a science or an art—it’s a craft.

Uniquely American Rum

We make our home and our rum in Crested Butte, Colorado, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Our sugarcane comes from a coop of family farmers in Louisiana, we proof our rums with pure mountain snowmelt water, and our rums benefit daily from our location 8,888 feet above sea level. Altitude benefits nearly every aspect of distilling and aging rum, contributing to the smooth yet surprising complex flavor profiles our rums are known for.
